Analyzing of perception of citizens

Privatization is a complex process of transformation of property from public to private ownership, followed by numerous policies and regulations. Privatization includes a broad range of social consequences, and a growing concern over the negative repercussions of privatization has spawned research worldwide (Prizzia, 2005). There are several studies carried out related to privatization of Socially Owned Enterprises in Kosovo, challenges and problems of privatized enterprises. However it is less studied the consideration of citizens on the interference of privatization into citizen’s lives and their social welfare. The purpose of this paper is to make eff ort to study the impression of citizens and former employees on the impact of privatization into the quality of their lives. An empiric study is based on primary data collected through interviews with former employees and other citizens, entwisted by secondary source of data, through combination of qualitative and quantitative method. The general picture is that with privatization too many working positions are lost and directly infl uenced family economies. It is found that majority of citizens interviewed are not satisfi ed with the privatization process neither with the consequences of privatization as they consider themselves to be the biggest losers. The state politics should be more supportive towards production and business revitalization.
